What to bring for Baby Swim
All You Need to Know
- Swimming costume for parents and baby (A full costume for parent or caregiver)
- Swimming nappy for baby, Babies should wear special disposable swimming nappies such as huggies little swimmers. They are specially designed to hold in any unavoidable mess so you don’t have to worry about little mishaps. Disposable swim pants, unlike nappies, don’t swell up in the water, in facts they are the nearest thing to a swim costume. Alternatively, you can use the swim pants which are specially made for swimming babies.
- Swimming cap for your baby is require because remember babies retain heat through their head. Babies will be warmer with a swim cap on.
- Hairclip or elastic to tie back parent’s/caregivers hair away from their face. Alternatively, the parent/caregiver can wear a swim cap if they do not wish to get their hair wet.
- Bring three towels to the lesson. One to take baby out, one for drying bay and of course one towel for the parent.
- Give your baby a light snack no less than 30 minutes before swimming, do not give a full bottle or breakfast as it may end up in the pool.
- A warm bottle or a light snack for after the swim (If mom is breast feeding – Boob).
